Founded by the vaccinology academics, Professor Dame Sarah Gilbert and Professor Sir Adrian Hill, Barinthus Biotherapeutics (formerly Vaccitech) focuses on developing novel vaccines and immunotherapies to tackle cancer, infectious diseases and other chronic illnesses that impact millions of people around the world.
In 2010 we provided a pathfinder investment of £25,000 to Tokamak Energy’s founders, becoming the first investor in the company and giving them the support to begin a journey that has seen the business become one of the UK’s most successful startups.
Founded in 2021 utilizing technology developed in Caltech’s laboratories, Captura provides low-cost atmospheric carbon removal by leveraging the world’s largest natural CO2 absorber – the ocean.
