About peter

Peter Mitchell is the Head of Origination at Future Planet Capital. He manages the relationships with our key university partners around the world and is responsible for the company’s cutting-edge data systems. A data scientist by background, Peter has written a range of algorithms that identify, score and then rank emerging companies based on the likelihood of them producing profitable solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.

Peter brings a wealth of experience using statistical analysis to answer complex questions. Before joining Future Planet Capital in 2021, he worked on several large-scale statistical analyses for organisations such as the UK Cabinet Office and the OECD, and has taught PhD students at the University of Oxford on how to code and conduct quantitative analysis.

He holds a PhD from the University of Oxford, which he completed on a full scholarship from All Souls College, and a master’s degree from Harvard University.
